Fiberglass flagpole Banner
The fiberglass flagpole with fixed rotational arm is very resistant to the wind. Available heights from 6 to 12m. The flags are changed by laying down the flagpole thanks to its tilting plate system. At FlagLand our focus is on bringing the highest quality flags and flagpoles available on the market directly to you. We have both residential flagpoles and commercial flagpoles to be able support any flag you may have.
Fiberglass flagpole version Banner (with rotating banner-arm). Fitted to the top of the pole, it holds the flag out on permanent display and ensures the message or design is displayed regardless of wind strength. It rotates to follow the wind direction but is only suited to portrait orientation flags.
Fiberglass flagpoles are non-conductive – meaning they will not attract lightening, therefore they do not require grounding
All fiberglass flagpoles version Banner include
- strong and flexible cone tapered fiberglass tube, with a brilliant white colour *
- plastic top white ( as an option "onion" shape top ) - Position 1
- rotating socket 360o ( which prevents flag wrap around the flagpole ) with banner-arm - Position 2
- tilting foot or fixing hinge ( hinge base made of galvanised steel with easy adjustment bolts )
- plastic rings for fastening the flag (x5) - Position 3
- counterweight (x1) - Position 4

Which Flagpole is the best option for me?
The height of your flagpole should reflect its surroundings and the buildings on which the flagpole is attached or stands in front of. Here is a guide to suggested flagpole sizes:
- A 6m flagpole height would suit a building with 1-2 floors.
- An 8m – 10mm flagpole height would suit a building with 2-3 floors.
- A 10m – 12m flagpole height would suit a tower block, stadium, or prestige site and is ideal on sites with more than one pole.
In order to keep your fiberglass flagpole clean, we recommend tilting the fiberglass flagpole and cleaning it with hot water and soft soap.
The wax for boats can be used for extra lustre.
Why should you choose a flagpole with banner-arm ?
The flagpole with banner arm has the advantage of offering optimal visibility of the flag even when there is no wind. The banner arm ensures that the flag is always taut and therefore clearly visible. With a standard pole your flag will be less visible when there is little wind.

To understand exactly the types of fiberglass flagpoles sold by us, we present a table with the similarities and differences between them.
Standard | ||||
Standard Lock | ||||
Banner | ||||
Windtracker | ||||
* For the fiberglass flagpoles types "Banner" and "Windtracker" the flag is visible and without wind ( thanks to the horizontal rotating arm ). ** The fiberglass flagpole “Banner” type is not equipped with a halyard rope. To change the flag must tilt the flagpole. *** No annoying clatter - of the rope against the flagpole thanks to the internal halyard. Anti-theft box - access to the hoisting system is protected by a set-up box locked with a key. |
Base options. Permanent fiberglass flagpoles come with tilting plate (hinged base)
The hinged base plate makes installation and maintenance much easier and enables the flagpole to be tilting with ease for cleaning. The flagpoles are installed in a concrete base using a mounting hinge. The hinge makes the installation easier and enables to lay the flagpole on the ground during maintenance or for changing the flag (for Banner version). A system of screws makes it possible to adjust the vertical position of the flagpole.
Instructions how to make a foundation for hinged base plate
These instructions are guidelines for making a foundation, it should be treated as an information. For the final project of foundation, please consult a local architect and a civil engineer who are familiar with the terrain and climatic characteristics specific to the place where the foundation will be made.
The information presented in these instructions may be subject to technical modifications without previous notice.
Figure 1 – Make a hole in the ground with the following dimensions:
- flagpole with height 6 - 7m - hole dimensions Φ 60cm x H = 100cm
- flagpole with height 8 - 9m - hole dimensions Φ 65cm x H = 100cm
- flagpole with height 10 - 11m - hole dimensions Φ 70cm x H = 100cm
- flagpole with height 12m - hole dimensions Φ 85cm x H = 120cm
Figure 2 – The hole should not be dig wider and then a form inserted, the hole should be filled directly with cement. An alternative is to pour a continuous slab under all poles, in which case forms may be used. Pour about 5 cm of gravel at the bottom of hole.
Figure 3 – Fill the hole with concrete. Foundation concrete should be class B 17.5 or B 20. The threaded mounting studs from the foundation frame should protrude 75mm, or maximum 80mm above the mounting plate (3 mm thickness).
Figure 4 – After about 7 days defracted. From the time of pouring the concrete to the time of erecting the pole, seven calendar days must pass. Alternatively, an accelerant may be added to the concrete, in which case the concrete may be ready for mounting of the pole within a few hours.
Figure 5 – Fix the tilt plate nail, lift the flagpole and tighten the screws. The threaded mounting studs from the foundation frame (M16) must not be lubricated with any type of oil or grease.
Figure 6 – Adjust the screws to position the flagpole perfectly vertical. The flagpole must be vertically levelled with a levelling tool (40 cm level tool will suffice). Tighten the nuts after one month.
The assembly of the flagpoles should be performed by at lease two people.

Workplace safety manual during flagpole maintenance
Flagpole is designed for diplaying national, organizational, company, advertising and other types of flags. Flagpoles can be of one piece or sectional construction (from many pieces). They can be made of fiberglass or aluminium.
Flagpole can be installed:
- on a ground sleeve - which is fixed in concrete of foundation
- on a hinged base plate fixed by anchor bars to the foundation or to a portable base
Flagpoles can be from 6 to 12m high.
Flagpoles should be installed and operate in a way not causing danger for people and property.
During flagpole conservation all elements of the flagpole and the proper wayof their fixing should be checked. Maintenance or repair actions, connected withthe change of accessories, which require putitng the flagpole down should be carried out in maximally safe and cautions with the presence of at least 3 people.
Putting down the flagpole can take place when the wind speed does not exceed 3 in Beaufort scale (up to 19 km/h or 5,4 m/s). Banner type flagpoles are allowed to be put down when the wind speed is stronger but only when taking all the necesarry precautions. Steps to put down the flagpole :
- Before starting the actions become familiar with the place where the flagpole will be put down
- Level and clean the place where the flagpole will be put
- Secure the terrain around the flagpole et least with the length of the flagpole
- Put the flag to the down part of the flagpole (does not apply to Banner flagpole due to lack of halyard system)
- 5.1 Flagpole with a hinged base plate :
a) make sure that the upper and the lower part of the base are joined together firmly by screw creating a hinge
b) unscrew the upper nuts of the anchor bars
c) hold the flagpole and move back slowly till the flagpole will be down. Take care of the accessories installed on the upper part of the flagpole.
5.2 Flagpole with ground sleeve :
a) take the flagpole out of the ground sleeve, put the lower part of the flagpole on a rough surface, and gradually lean the flagpolecontrolling in the first stage its lower part not to allow it to overweight the upper part
b) after balancing the lower part of the flagpole to its upper part, the person holding the lower part should now help to hold the upper part till the flagpole is down - After executing all the maintenance or repair actions put the flagpole up using the instructions above but in reversed order
- Maintenance and repair action are much easier using a hoisiting crane. All maintenance and repair operations must be done by trained people.
In case of finding out that the technical condition of the flagpole is poor, the defects should be announced to the person responsible for flagpoles usage and the flagpole should be secured
The client is responsible for :
- checking and tightening of screws on the assembly anchors at least once every 2 months
- taking off the flag from the flagpole if the wind speed is 60 km/h and more
- for a Banner flagpole version, tilt the flagpole if the wind speed is 60 km/h and more
Maximal allowable wind speed
Wind speed – the distance which is covered by air molecules in a unit of time. Meteorology notes the wind speed in m/s
For weather forecasting, wind speed is calculated based on the average wind speed during the 10 minute interval proceding the observation
Gust of wind – is a sudden movement of air exceeding the average wind speed in the last 10 minutes interval by over 5 m/s
